Meet Jerry Spry
 I am a Professional Makeup Artist,
Hair Designer, Commercial Photographer, and magazine writer.
After leaving the Army as an officer, I began my career by
studying hair and make up in Paris, London, New York and Hollywood.
I subsequently began working in the same cities that had already
taught me so much. I learned
the most about make up technique at NBC network studios in
Burbank, California.
I went on to establish a studio in
Hollywood, California, where I refined my Makeup, Hair and
Photography skills for eleven years. I was the first ever to keep a studio in
Hollywood and Kentucky at the same time and for the longest
time.
In the pageant arena, four out of
five of my pageant contestant clients for whom I designed their
hair, taught them makeup and did their official photographs for
the "National" Miss USA or Teen USA Pageant have finished in the
top four. This gives me the highest "pageant services" success
percentage in the country.
I have helped scores of
internationally successful people over the years. My clients
have made the covers of everything from Rolling Stone to Time
magazine and recently as well. Having said that, I prefer to be
known for what I can do for you and not who my clients are.
My salon was the first in Kentucky
to use the words "Hair Design" in the salon name. I guess
imitation is the most sincere form of compliment because now
there are hundreds of salons in Kentucky, that use "Hair Design"
in their business name. Most of the young Hair Designers do not
know where it originated. The people who have been in the
business a long time will back me up on this.
