Makeup Lesson Details
The reason I
started teaching make up was so my clients could repeat the process
for themselves. When I teach, I focus on the what, how and
why of product selection and application. I work on you in front of
a Hollywood style make up station with the three types of light
represented. The three types of light are daylight, fluorescent, and
incandescent (bulb) lighting. Each type of light can cause make up to
look un-natural so I teach you how to deal with each source of
light.
I ask you to bring
a notebook and audiocassette tape for taking notes because it takes
two hours and is very detailed. Each woman has her own individual
formula or personal best. Once I have identified your formula I walk
you through each step by telling you what to use, where to use it,
how to use it, and why to use it. I also explain to you how to shop
for your precise make up formula.
One hour mini
lessons after the initial two-hour make up lesson are the real way
you become an expert on your "one of a kind" face. For a mini lesson, I have you come in made up the best you can do from
what you learned during the initial lesson. Then I proceed
to show you the subtle things you missed during the first lesson.
When I cannot find any subtle errors in your technique, you are your
own expert artist on your particular face.
You will not be
able to teach others because you would have to know how to
formulate which takes many repeated classes and is strictly for the
licensed professionals.
I am a commercial
make up artist which means I understand the color temperature of
light and its effects on media and reality. A commercial make up artist must match the make up
to these types of media light, as well as reality. I worked in
Hollywood, California for eleven years and decided to return to
Kentucky to finish my book "Spry Looks the Thinking Woman's Guide to
Natural Looking Beauty & Glamour", soon to be published.
